The New Office With A View
Sure, we've all had those days at work that just never seems to end. Glued to your desk all day. Breathing in the stifling recycled air while reading under unnatural florescent lights. And more often than not, you find yourself just eating your lunch at your desk while plugging away at the computer. It's not until the chains of the workday fall from your wrists at the end of the day that you are able to experience the outside, and that's only while walking to your car (or metro, Uber, etc.) where you are again closed off to the outdoors until you reach home. Over time we become desensitized to the daily rat race and consider this to be the norm. But it's a new day people.
The internet has given way to a new wave of independent contractors, sales people, consultants, buyers, etc. You name it; the choices are as limitless as the imagination.
With the internet and accessible wi-fi absolutely everywhere now, it is becoming more and more easy to create a niche for one's self and offer whatever service you are good at. The internet has given way to a new wave of independent contractors, sales people, consultants, buyers, etc. You name it; the choices are as limitless as the imagination. One thing that we have come to realize during our travels around this big ol' planet of ours is that the New Millennium folks are not following the old norms of the regular working day, and they are creating great changes for themselves and others in the process. While telecommuting is becoming more and more acceptable, the day-to-day "office" is also changing. We had the great opportunity to talk with the gentlemen pictured below. These guys are in their early 20's, and found a way to make their work work for them, and not the other way around.
Waking up every morning and sipping your handcrafted latte while enjoying a leisurely breakfast all while looking out at the beautiful nature that's all around us...this is the "office" of the New Millennium. Recycled air conditioning has been replaced by the cool breeze of a summers day. Glaring florescent bulbs are replaced by the natural rays of the sun. Got a meeting with the staff? No problem, just hookup your conferencing software of choice and start talking to them, all while wearing nothing but your shorts and flip flops. Are these guys slackers? Absolutely not. These are people running companies through the internet, closing deals, and creating change. We take our hats off to these guys, and all the people just like them. People who have decided that enough is enough of living all day inside of an office. These are people who were able to see the opportunity and made it happen. Yes indeed, folks. It's a new day to be sure
